Fungus gnat nematodes are microscopic roundworms that naturally live in soil. You will not see them, but they actively search for fungus gnat larvae, enter them, and stop them from developing into adults.
Why It Works Better Than “Just Sticky Traps”
Sticky traps catch adult gnats, but adults are only the tip of the iceberg. Nematodes work in the potting mix, right where the larvae are. For best results, combine both: nematodes for larvae, sticky traps for adults.
What to Expect
First days: adults may still fly around, because they were already there
After 2 to 3 weeks: you should clearly notice fewer adults as fewer larvae reach adulthood
Heavy infestations: repeat after 2 to 3 weeks for best control
Extra Tips (High Impact)
Use yellow sticky traps for adults while nematodes handle the larvae
Apply when the soil is in the 15 to 25°C range (common indoor temps are usually fine)
Do not let the soil dry out during the first 2 weeks after application
If you have fewer plants than the dosage, dissolve the nematodes in the amount of water you normally use for watering, then apply evenly
How to use?
Step 1, Prep the soil Water your plants first so the potting mix is evenly moist. This helps the nematodes move through the soil and prevents runoff. Step 2, Check how much you need Choose the right pack size for your plant collection. As a guideline, aim for about 200 ml of solution per plant, adjust a bit for bigger or smaller pots.
Step 3, Bring to temperature Take the nematodes out of the fridge 30 minutes before use so they can come to room temperature.
Step 4, Mix the solution Mix the nematodes with about 1L of lukewarm water and stir well so they spread evenly through the water.
Step 5, Apply Pour the mixture onto the soil of your plants, preferably in the evening or during cloudy weather.
Step 6, Aftercare Keep the soil moist, not soggy for the next 2 weeks so the nematodes can do their work. Repeat the application if needed, typically every 4 weeks.
Shelf life
We recommend using the nematodes as soon as possible!
If you wish to store the packaging for longer, do so in the refrigerator between 4 and 8 degrees Celsius for a maximum of 7 days. Once the nematodes have been dissolved in water, they can no longer be stored.
